As carbon emitting companies profit, we the public pay the price for the carbon they pollute in many different ways. To illustrate this point we created the Cost of Carbon, a living receipt of the price we are all paying for carbon pollution. People from around the world can find out how they are paying, add their costs to the bill, and send share their costs to the leaders responsible for making policy that could put a price on carbon pollution.

Users could see the ways they personally pay the cost of carbon pollution.
Once the peoples’ costs were added The Cost of Carbon receipt was used to pressure leaders to put a price on the carbon pollution we are paying for with cap and trade policies.
